The Iran-Hezbollah-Hamas Axis

Patrick Saint-Paul, correspondent of the Figaro in Jerusalem, presents an analysis on the clearly rising influence of the “Iran-Hezbollah-Hamas Axis” against the moderated Palestinians.

Following its election, “the Sunnite movement has abandoned its traditional alliance with the moderated regimes of the Gulf under the influence of Washington such as Saudi Arabia in order to invest in an alliance against nature with the Shiites.  An intransigent axis, Iran-Hezbollah-Hamas, with which the Sunnite regime of Syria is also associated, is on its way to being born,” states the journalist.  Ibrahim Abrash, professor of political science at the al-Azhar University in Gaza, cited by Patrick Saint-Paul, sets up a blackboard in the case where the Hamas will bring legislative and presidential elections:  “the situation worsens, for the West will therefore be able to cut all ties with the Palestinian Authority, in the absence of a moderated president.  If each Party wins one of the two polls, the current situation will only last longer.  And if the Fatah wins the two elections, the Hamas will immediately reject the results.

The violence continues.  The movement will therefore be able to revive the armed resistance with a campaign of suicide attacks, aiming to prevent the Fatah from applying its program and renewing dialogue with Israel.”
